Summit success on Kilimanjaro for another happy group

"I liked the comprehensive website, had a nice friendly feel to it..........Certainly a trip of a lifetime, evoking emotions of despair and elation in the same day but with an overall feeling of achievement and an insight into the lives of the wonderful local people we encountered........Very attentive guides, porters and cook.  Couldn't do enough for us."
Karen Spinks, Mt Meru and Kilimanjaro Lemosho/Shira trek

On the descent from Mt Kenya

"A clear website............I felt very well informed throughout the entire booking process..............The food on the treks was much better than I ever imagined............Hygiene was of a very high standard...........The trip exceeded my expectations. I had reservations especially regarding the altitude, but the guides were brilliant with good pace and advice...........The guides and crew were absolutely excellent and made us feel very special. William worked so hard for us and had thought of absolutely everything and a lot more besides........... Every factor combined perfectly to really deliver the trip of a lifetime! Well worth every penny! Thank you!!!!"

"The team of support staff we had were excellent and looked the most organised on the Mountain.  They were well run and everyone knew exactly what they had to do..........Humphrey and Francis are both legends. You know when everyone knows who your guides are and everyone wants to say hello to them, you have the best people on the Mountain in your team."
Neal Pavitt, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek

Laura McCafferty, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek

"The support crew were fantastic.  I loved coming in to camp with the sound of the 'Kilimanjaro song' every day.  It certainly lifted spirits after a long day.  The crew were only too happy to help and support us and even carried my bag on summit night..........Best bits - hot water to wash with, tea brought to you in the morning, excellent food, excellent guides and the Kilimanjaro song and not forgetting...we all got to the top!"
Emily Stead, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek

"The trip fulfilled all my expectations.  It was a wonderful experience.  Trip of a life time.  Super organisation from East African Adventure.  Guides were amazing and made the trip extra special."

Congratulations to the Classrooms for Kenya group on their successful Kilimanjaro charity climb.  If you want to help the group and the charity build more classrooms in Kenya, then go to www.justgiving.com/wrichards.

Classrooms for Kenya and East African Adventure We are running another Kilimanjaro charity climb in late July 2010 for Classrooms for Kenya, which is a charity started by staff and students of the Weald School, West Sussex.  The charity's aim is simply to promote education in Kenya by raising funds to build new, permanent and safe classrooms for Kenyan children, replacing their mud hut classrooms with brick-built ones.  You can find out more about the work of Classrooms for Kenya by clicking on www.classroomsforkenya.org.uk.  If you would like to sponsor the ten people climbing Kilimanjaro by the Rongai route and help them achieve their group target of £10,000, just go to the group's page at www.justgiving.com/wrichards.

Epilepsy Action and East African Adventure

In August 2010, we are running a Kilimanjaro charity climb for Epilepsy Action. Epilepsy Action is the largest epilepsy organisation in the UK, campaigning for increased epilepsy awareness, and offering support and assistance to the many people whose lives are affected by the condition.  If you would like to know more about the work of Epilepsy Action, click on www.epilepsy.org.uk.  If you would like to sponsor the seven people tackling Kilimanjaro by the Rongai route and help them achieve their target of £7,000, just go to the team's page at www.justgiving.co.uk/kilimanjaro19august2010.

"The team as a whole were brilliant, treated us like royalty, we all had a great time & we bonded very well which made the whole experience even better."
Darren Siddons, Ngorongoro Highlands walking trip

Summit (Point Lenana), Mt Kenya

"Trip was tailored to meet our specific requirements - was undertaken in a thoroughly professional and courteous manner throughout. Frankly amazing how good the food was given that it was being prepared on camping stoves in a tent. One of the best holidays ever. Superb balance of experience, exercise, achievement and relaxation. Met many lovely people in truly unforgettable circumstances. Excellent planning and flawless logistics. Many thanks indeed to all at East African Adventure for a wonderful holiday."
Nick Davis, Mt Kenya trek, safari & Zanzibar

Above Lake Michaelson, Mt Kenya

"They really paid attention to hygiene which instilled confidence in the team. They were flexible enough to alter the pace to suit our needs to ensure safety while maximising what we could achieve (having to make adjustments because our son was not well). Totally satisfied. A really good combination of experiences."
Ruth Davis, Mt Kenya trek, safari & Zanzibar

"The best organised measures of hygiene I've seen so far on a trek. I would probably also have rated 'pace & route' as excellent if it hadn't been for my troublesome knee. If only I had let William carry some of my drinking water on day 2, as he offered to do ... I looked for a destination in Kenya that was neither a traditional safari with game drives nor strenuous mountain trekking, and I haven't seen a trek like 'Loita Hills' offered by anyone else."
Birte Christensen, Loita Hills walking trip

Louise, Raymond & William on Kilimanjaro Rongai

"Tents provided were in fantastic condition and well suited to the trek. Food on trek was great - lots of it and well cooked - Chef Meshach was superb! Strong briefing at the start of trip stressed important safety/hygiene points for the whole trek. Support crew were brilliant from start to finish. The whole trip from start to finish was excellent, we were well looked after at all times by everyone involved. Particularly enjoyed atmosphere created by the whole crew on the trek - lots of laughs."
Louise Brown, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek and Ngorongoro safari

"William was first class in all areas! After working in this type of industry for several years myself, I found very little difference between the standards William set and that of any British or Western guide."
Raymond Hale, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek and Ngorongoro safari

"The flexibility offered by a private company allowed us to arrange the trip to suit our requirements and also the flexibility to change arrangements locally."
Wilson Brown, Kilimanjaro Rongai trek and Ngorongoro safari
