General Information
Baggage Restrictions
As the nature of all our trips is that of adventure travel, baggage
restrictions will unfortunately have to apply, and everything you will
need for the duration of the walk or trek has to be in your soft-sided
kit bag, (which will be your 'checked in' luggage at the airport, and
should be locked for the flight). As on most of our trips your
baggage will be carried by a local porter, it will have to be limited
in weight to 15kg. We will not overload our porters, and if your
trek bag exceeds 15kg and an extra porter is needed, we will charge you
an extra US$100. Personal and day-to-day things can go in your
rucksack (and can stay with you as hand luggage); there is more
information on what types of bag etc on the Clothing and Equipment pages.
Your luggage must be limited to these two bags.
Should you be going on a safari or beach extension, you
should be able to fit in a few extra items of clothing if you wish, but
most of the clothing you wear trekking or walking can be doubled up and
worn quite comfortably for this. Generally, it will be possible
to leave a small bag behind at your hotel before going on trek, and
collect it afterwards if you are then going on a safari or beach
extension.
