It has never been our intention to have a printed
adventure holiday brochure for our adventure trips - we like
trees! The vast majority of printed brochures are wasted, and
therefore ineffective; meaning natural resources being needlessly used
up. Not only that but we could not readily have either included
the depth of information we would like to provide, or keep it regularly
updated in a printed brochure. We hope in time that other travel
companies will think and do the same as us.
So this website is our e-brochure, we hope you like
it. A website allows us to include all the relevant information
we think is useful. This also means we are able to offer far more
information about each trip - and general information you may wish to
know about the countries, people etc. We have also been able to
try and address concerns and highlight things the traveller should be
aware of, such as specific travel and health advice, and altitude
awareness.
Brochures are generally designed and printed annually, a
long time before any trips for that year have departed. For
a summer sun holiday abroad this does not really matter, but in
adventure travel when visiting remote natural destinations it can quite
quickly become out of date and wrong. Take the sudden closure of
the Western Breach route on Kili in January 2006 - many brochures were
still selling it until the following year! We can also
keep prices up to date, reflecting movements in the US$ exchange rate. Our
website can be kept up to date far more easily, giving current and
correct information to people wishing to go on an adventure trip.
Some people prefer printed material to read, instead of
sitting at a computer screen - but our website includes information and
itineraries for each trip that can be viewed online or downloaded
individually and printed out at home; in fact, any page you choose from
the website can be printed too.
We can supply printed pages from the website if you do not have access
to a printer. You can send us an email stating which trip you are
interested in and what other pages you would like, or give us a call,
our details are in the Contact Us section. |
